Accuware rolls out software for EPV Solar 10/25/07 Accuware has begun initial roll out of process control / inventory creation software with EPV Solar. EPV produces Solar Panels that are integrated into building construction, as roof top installations, and as free standing structures as well as other applications. Overview When we engage with Clients in the warehousing and manufacturing areas it is not uncommon that our clients are seeking to improve efficiency and accuracy. The use of Barcode Identification for Process control and packaging confirmation is a great way to add automation to an area that could be susceptible to mistakes. Even more important is the opportunity to develop inventory data. When a product is “born” it gets identified. During the label identification process we can store data as we create labels. This is done “in the work flow” and is integrated with the product creation process to minimize data entry. Thus the Inventory creation and Labeling process become one. Improved Accuracy This type of process is a great opportunity to reduce manual data entry by capturing inventory creation, and then using barcodes to move the product through the rest of the process. Product can now be scanned with Barcodes as it is packaged, moved to the warehouse and shipped. This reduces the chances of the product being added to a master container that is incorrectly labeled. Now inventory and shipping functions also become more accurate. Improved reports are a natural by product of the system. Reports can be used by order fulfillment staff to estimate delivery, and by inventory control personnel to ensure that proper Raw materials are on hand to keep up with customer demand. System Details The system begins by automatically importing information from the testing software for the solar panels. The Accuware software checks and automatically imports text files produced by the tester and pre-assigns the panels to a master container. Master container labels are also produced by the system using Seagull Bartender software as a “back end” Label generation engine. When the solar panel has passed final testing and inspection it is placed into the proper container and is scanned with a barcode reader. The Accuware software confirms that the solar panel has been placed into the proper type of master container. The system also provides Packing lists for each master container that can be output in .pdf or Excel formats. Enterprise expandability The Accuware system is completely browser based which allows any number of users who have access to the local “intranet” to use the system. All software is installed on the server and is protected and easy to maintain locally or remotely. External users outside the “four walls” can gain access to the system if given the proper credentials. All data is stored in Microsoft SQL server database for affordable expandability, and secure back up. The system can easily be expanded into other processes making its return on investment improve with each area that it controls. All software is developed using Microsoft ASP.Net development tools to ensure the use of state of the art, readily available technology for maximum customer value.
