United States Coast Guard Weapons Inventory Installation

 Accuware’s initial conversation with the US Coast Guard Facility based on Cape Cod found them in a state of frustration. Having recently purchased inventory software from another vendor. Accuware CEO Steve Morris said “They had received an ‘Out of the Box’ solution that was supposed to be plug and play. It never worked. Their wireless hardware components could not be configured and the software did not have the functions required to run the hand held device the way they desired.”

            Accuware agreed to provide the software function required by the Coast Guard to track their weapons inventory. The mandatory requirements of the project were defined up front and then a software proposal was presented clearly defining what the software would need to provide. Accuware’s strategy of creating software modules that are ready to be modified provides it’s clients with the stability of proven software with the assurance that they will get critical features. Since Accuware software utilizes a SQL server database there is plenty of scalability. Clients can add features to the software as custom upgrades to ensure that they will never out grow their software. “Customers are often left holding the bag with no support and find out much later that the box of software ultimately did not have the feature that they need to operate. “We are amazed by the lack of support that a lot of our clients have experienced when going with the low cost product that has thousands of customers.” 

            Accuware was able to rescue most of the hardware that was sold to the United States Coast Guard but had never worked. We were able to remotely access the Central pc to provide installation assistance. Although we offer “on site” assistance we are often able to get systems running quickly over the web. Since Accuware’s software runs in a browser it is centrally located for easy installation and maintenance. Our software runs on the local machines as a “web” application. Everything is local so if the broad band connection to the fascility goes down..the clients keeps running.

            The coast was pleased with the array of hand held based screens that are available to the user. “many inventory packages focus on the PC user only. We excel in the area of mobility. Our knowledge of the most advance mobil hardware gives us an edge in developing software that runs both on a mobile device and on the desktop.”  Maybe our nation is just a little bit safer with this technology place.
